So I thought I was being stood up...
Last night:
I left work, ran over to the J Club to drop something off.
Went back to my building where I was supposed to meet what I guess you call a date at 8 in the restaurant upstairs.
I’m a few minutes early so I order a glass of champagne while I make a few phone calls, read through emails, the usual shit I do when I’m waiting but don’t want to look like it.
[i’m...
In between that and this, it’s safe to say my friends are hilarious.
Real talk.
The only reason I truly want an iPhone 4 is to facefuck with everyone ever.

PARIS FASHION WEEK
September 30, 2010
Fucking hell.
This is so excellent.
To me, this screams Kate Moss.
It’s ultra glam in a totally laid back way and just exudes bad ass bitch.
I do have one complaint: where the fuck are the mini dresses?

This kind of really sucks Nicolas Ghesquière is a genius, there’s no arguing that.
I may not always love what he creates, but it’s just magical. I certainly always stand back in awe and appreciate.
“It’s about individuality,” he says.
It’s complex, it’s sexy and edgy. Somehow, despite feeling...

I desperately wish I could divulge more about the conversation that prompted that response from my darling friend Natalie.
But I’ve been laughing for the last 20 minutes.
And it feels fucking wonderful.

DVN is another designer that I find tragically underrated.
There is always an ease to his designs that I find incredibly alluring.
The ombré pieces are stunning.
This exudes glamour.
But not Hollywood glamour.
A more tasteful, less in your face approach to being absolutely, effortlessly fabulous. And I love the tomboy meets city...

at the Balenciaga show in Paris.
This is perfect and although I have kept my distance from cargo pants all this time, I want some now.
Roberto Cavalli’s 40th Anniversary party
Rachel Bilson in Roberto Cavalli Pre-Fall 2010.
Rachel looks absolutely perfect.
Bar Rafaeli in Roberto Cavalli Fall 2006
Also present were: Leigh Lezark, Carine Roitfeld and Taylor Swift.
Carine always, always brings the heat and I love it.
Nicole Richie style...
She’s been all over NY promoting her new book and has served up quite the variety of looks.
I pretty much ordered these from favorite (top) to least favorite.
She is struggling a little lately…

Gift wrapping...
I always find myself totally unprepared to wrap gifts in a way the recipients deserve.
I was thrilled when I came across Knot and Bow on Etsy.
Super cute, simple wrapping that will make the gift look extra special.
[seriously. how awesome is it when you receive a gift and it’s beautifully wrapped? i love it when that happens]
I saw this kit of “essentials” and knew I needed...
Fall must have: (flat) over the knee boots
Flat over the knee boots…
Not as slooty or attention grabbing as their high-heeled twin but I insist you need to have a pair.
Not surprisingly, the flat version of this super hooot boot style is significantly less expensive.
And there are options galore.
So here we go:
Jeffrey Campbell - Wishlist flat engineer boots, $310 @ Shopbop
Pour La Victoire - Emanuelle python boots, $488 @...
Sniff sniff: Confetto
Confetto by Profumum
Sugared almond, amber, musk, hint of anise
Confetto eau de parfum by Profumum, $240 @ LuckyScent
Sweet scents remind me of high school.
There is something so naiive and innocent and well, sweet about them.
That is the reason I have generally steered clear of anything like Confetto in my adult life. I have taken a strong liking to powerful scents that make my presence...
Spring 2011: Roberto Cavalli
MILAN FASHION WEEK
September 27, 2010
Cavalli is celebrating an incredible 40 years in fashion.
And I cannot think of a better way to honor that than a display like this one.
It has an ingenious mixture of all the elements that have made Cavalli so successful. There was the crocodile and snake prints, the leather, the beads and fringe, sheer chiffon but most of all, there...
Blake Lively went on The Late Show last night to promote ”The Town” in this gorgeous Elie Saab Fall 2010 LBD.
Sometimes I wish she would do more with her hair.
Sniff sniff: Dhajala
I decided I’d throw patience to the wind and start with the fragrance I was most excited for:
Dhajala by Xerjoff
Bergamot, orange flower, galbanum, rose, jasmine, pink pepper, Tonkiphora balsam, Myroswelia balsam, amber
Dhajala eau de parfum by Xerjoff, $345 @ LuckyScent

MILAN FASHION WEEK

This made my mouth water.
My fashion taste buds are begging for more.
Dsquared² Spring 2011 sums me up.
Real talk.
If HLC were a fashion show, it would be this right here.
Utterly brilliant.
Boyish charm never looked so good or so sexy. That is what make this collection -they managed to hit the perfect balance.
I am...
Sniff sniff...
I am a scent snob.
If there’s one thing I pride myself on it is smelling not only delicious but unique.
I run from from the mass produced bottles that fill department stores.
It might sound awfully pretentious, in fact it easily ranks in the most pretentious things about me.
But I really do place a lot of importance in how I smell.
There is nothing like walking into a room and being...

Spring 2011: Salvatore Ferragamo
MILAN FASHION WEEK
September 26, 2010
I’ve said it before and I will say it a million times over:
Salvatore Ferragamo is tragically underrated.
This is simultaneously (and beautifully) gypsy, bohemian love child and a reminder of Ferragamo’s trademark refined, classy chic.

Spring 2011: Dolce & Gabbana
MILAN FASHION WEEK
September 25, 2010
Clearly I spoke to soon when I mentioned being partial to the designs of D&G for their youthful essence.
Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring 2011 blows D&G out of the water.
I’m not a big fan of lace or the ultra girlie but this is so effortlessly sexy, there are very few things from this that I would not wear.
Spring 2011: Blumarine

So fun!
Fall must have: over the knee boots
I’m on the prowl.
Big time.
I know I want a heeled paired for extra ooomph and a flat pair for days when being 5’3 sounds nice a four inch heel just isn’t practical.
[is it ever practical?]
I also know that while the Louboutin, Burberry Prorsum, etc, etc versions are to die for, I’m not going to drop upwards of 2k for a single pair of boots.

But if I were to spend three thousands dollars on...
it would undoubtedly be for these fucking insane L’Wren Scott Fall 2010 lace up boots.

Spring 2011: Prada
MILAN FASHION WEEK
September 23, 2010
Monkey business.
I have mixed feelings about Prada’s latest
It’s simply not my style yet I somehow found myself enticed by it.
But I can say that I appreciate the bold move, the playful artwork, the beautiful clothing and the obvious hard work Miuccia Prada put into the designs she conjured up for Spring 2011.

This has to be one of the hooooottest and easiest combinations, but it often gets overlooked.
LBD + leopard shoes = chickdin
Use it.
Rachel Bilson style
Dying over the boots she is wearing with both of these outfits.
They look kind of like this pair of boots from Zara that darling Frankie sent me a photo of a few weeks ago:
[i do believe the boots are still in stores, and i think the price was about $100)
And are very reminiscent of the lace up Chloe boots I loveeeed last winter.
Spring 2011: D&G
MILAN FASHION WEEK

This is a chickdin.
I love D&G by Dolce and Gabbana because it’s a little more youthful than their luxury line.

Milan is killing it!
Gucci opened with a stellar array yesterday that literally took my breathaway and Fendi isn’t too far behind.
A little 70’s but just totally and utterly laid back glamour.
This could be a come back for Fendi whose clothing hasn’t really caught my eye in a while.
Loveeeee.
