It’s official: Paul from MudHoney completely messed up my hair. I just blew it out for the first time since my cut and the long layers that I asked to be 1/2 shorter than my hair length are actually somewhere around 6 inches shorter.
Even though I complained the entire time about past stylists who refused to listen to me and gave me “their” cut instead of “my” cut, he still went the route of “I’m the stylist and I know better than you”.Yes, it’s just hair and it will grow back and doesn’t really matter in the great scheme of things, but as of right now I am livid.
If you’re a stylist and reading this, please let me know if you have any advice on how to handle these types of situations. What is the proper protocol? Do you call the salon and demand compensation for forking over several hundred bucks just so someone can give you the exact opposite of what you requested? Probably not, but a gal can dream.
I’ve left salons in tears after paying upwards of $300 for a haircut. They have always offered to “fix” or tweak to something more agreeable. But, once you cut more than I asked, it’s doomed. Sorry to hear this happened to you :/
